LITTLE Ethan gave his mum a bit of a shock when he arrived a week early. He is the first child for Michelle Pow, 26, a sales manager for Playforce, in Holt, and her husband Derek, 28, a section manager at Tesco.
Mrs Pow said: "The pregnancy was fine and the delivery was fine up until the end. I was dead nervous. He was a week early so it was a little bit unexpected.
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the maternity staff. They stopped me having to go to Bath at the last minute. Being carted off to Bath would have just caused the baby more stress. "He's the first grandchild for my parents and the fifth for Derek's."
The couple, who married in July, knew they were going to have a boy but took a while to decide on the name. Mrs Pow said: "It took us ages to choose Ethan but it was the only one we could agree on. We bandied around between Ethan and Nathan for a while before settling on Ethan."
She is now looking forward to having six months off work to spend with her son.
Born: April 18, 7.57am, Weight: 6lb 8oz, Parents: Michelle and Derek Pow, of Rocher Close, Westbury
