CONSERVATION volunteers in Bradford on Avon celebrated their first birthday on Saturday.
For the past year the Barton Farm Conservation Volunteers have been coming together to help improve their country park.
The group, which is made up of people from Bradford on Avon and the surrounding area, has really made a notable difference throughout the park for wildlife and visitors alike.
The volunteers have cleared scrub, litter picked, cut back clematis from over-laden trees and opened up some spectacular views of the country park and the river Avon for everyone to enjoy.
Wiltshire County Council's senior countryside ranger, Leo Wirtz, who coordinates the group, said: "What the group has achieved this year is fantastic. Each month we do a bit more and I am amazed by the impact that we have had. Everyone who has taken part should feel an immense sense of pride. It has been a real pleasure to coordinate these monthly gatherings."
The volunteers meet on the second Saturday of every month and if you want to know more, contact Leo on 07990 611138 or via leowirtz@wiltshire.gov.uk
