SUPERDRUG is taking over the former Lloyds Pharmacy store in Melksham.
Lloyds closed the store in Lowbourne at the start of the year, as it was the company's only branch in the UK not to have a dispensary. A spokesman for Superdrug said: "We are delighted to confirm plans to open a Superdrug store in Lowbourne, Melksham.
We will concentrate on offering Melksham customers the opportunity to get the best value health and beauty essentials and fantastic one-off deals." Town councillor Angie Barker said: "It's good news to hear that this site is not to lie empty for years on end as many of us feared.
I hope more large retailers will follow Superdrug and look at a possible move to Melksham."
