David Dixon is hoping to be given a welcome boost on tour with a little help from his friends at Enmore Park Golf Club.
It means the 28-year-old, pictured, is back on the big European stage after safely negotiating the qualifying school hurdle again in November, and will be officially attached to the Somerset club where he first learned to play golf.
"I'm delighted that Enmore wanted to be involved in this way," said Dixon, who lives nearby in Bridgwater. "This has always been my home club and I have some great memories of playing here."
Enmore were keen to support their famous son financially and it was the player's manager, Andrew "Chubby" Chandler who came up with a fund-raiser to suit all parties.
Added Dixon: "Chubby asked me how much the members liked me. His idea was to hold a golf day where the proceeds would help the club pay for my attachment for a year."
Enmore readily agreed and the result was the David Dixon Benefit Day on April 7.
Teams of four took part in a competition with a shotgun start at 10am. The day included a hot buffet lunch, auction and prize-giving.
