What are the odds of a golfer making two aces at the same hole in three days?
That was the achievement of Tony Metcalf at the par three fourth hole at the Isle of Wedmore. He holed his tee-shot on Wednesday and repeated the feat on Friday.
Club spokesman Peter Rodwell said: "Most of the members hate the winter greens, but it is assumed that this is not the case for Tony.
"There was much merriment in the bar to help him celebrate this relatively unusual event."
It was a prolific week for Wedmore aces. Sue Tarry was the other member to sink a tee-shot.
Wedmore are fine-tuning the course. The 17th green has been re-contoured and bunkers installed on both sides. The 18th tee is also receiving attention and for more water hazards could be introduced in the future.
