Dorset county women's team have a great incentive to win their county week again this year for the divisional final is being held at Broadstone on July 6.
New captain Dee Moore (Crane Valley) who has succeeded Sue Crabb (Ferndown) said: "That is our objective and we are going to do everything possible to make this happen."
Dorset won their group last year against Devon, Somerset and Cornwall at Saunton and qualified to meet Gloucestershire at Bristol and Clifton. But their dreams of competing in the English Ladies Golf Union county championship finals at Brancepath Castle, Co Durham, were ended by a crushing 7.5-1.5 defeat.
This year's South West week is at Minehead and West Somerset from May 7-12. The old-fashioned links course where the back nine faces the prevailing south west wind can be a major problem. As Dorset players have never experienced the course's difficulties, two training and playing days were arranged at Minehead.
Coach Tracy Loveys said: "We are hoping to go one better this year and the carrot is the chance to play in the divisional final at Broadstone where we would have a great home advantage."
