FIRE engines were called to a chemical leak in Chippenham after workers reported a smell of ammonia.
The incident happened at Avon Vibrations Management Systems on the Bumpers Farm industrial estate at just after 7am on Tuesday.
The affected area of the building was cordoned off after the fumes were traced to a refrigerator on the office area of the first floor.
An Environment Agency representative was on hand to assist with the firefighters' operation, where the fridge was moved outside the office and decontaminated using specialist shower equipment.
A chemical incident unit from Swindon and an incident command vehicle from Stratton St Margaret were also at the scene.
Advice on handling hazardous materials was obtained from a specialist officer until the fridge was removed.
