A new visitor manager has been appointed at Bowood House and Gardens.
Jason Thorley, 36, brings with him 20 years' experience in hotel, hospitality and catering.
He has managed hotels and conference centres all over the country including the five-star Grand Hotel in Jersey and Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth.
Bowood House and Gardens has been open to the public since 1975 and attracts more than 150,000 visitors a year.
Its attractions include the historic house set in 2,000 acres of Grade I listed parkland designed by Capability Brown; the children's'adventure playground and the renowned rhododendron walks.
Mr Thorley said: "This is a new challenge for me and I am delighted to be joining Bowood. My aim will be to build on the success of what we have here."
Mr Thorley is married with one daughter and lives in Hilperton, near Trowbridge.
l The Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce is planning a summer ball in the Lansdown marquee at Bowood on June 16.
Tickets will cost £30. More details to be advised.
