Wiltshire Times reader Douglas Male of Hazel Grove, Trowbridge has sent in this picture which has his father's handwriting on the back.
"According to my father's writing it was taken at the British Legion carnival or fete outside Melksham Town Hall," he says. "I am the small boy just to the left of centre, wearing one wellington and one sandal.
"It would think must have been about eight which would date it about 1948. "Perhaps some of your readers might recognise themselves."
