Melksham Chamber of Commerce has held the first of its action for Melksham business open forum at the Assembly Hall.
The committee also held its bi-monthly meeting.
Cllr Nick Westbrook gave a resum of Melksham Hospital's position in relation to the closure of Wiltshire hospitals.
He explained the budget spend and what services it could receive from the NHS and medical practitioners in the future.
Colin Harrison, chairman of the chamber, spoke about the council's proposed A-board ban and how it may affect businesses in the town.
Discussion followed about the possible impact on sales lost by traders who rely on A-boards and it was pointed out that the town council had not received any complaints about their use.
The next action for Melksham business forum is on May 11 venue and speaker to be be advised.
