I'D like to reply to the letter in last week's Wiltshire Times about the no right turn in Dursley Road.
To leave Dursley Road for the town centre you must go left up to the roundabout, go around that and often face being hit by traffic from Frome Road travelling along Bradley Road who fail to see why you came from and return in the other direction from the road you have just left!
Coming toward Dursley Road from Bradley Road you cannot enter Dursley Road, but have to drive down to the magic roundabout,' and go around, doing four lane changes in order to get to Dursley Road from the only direction you can enter it.
To add insult to injury new buildings on the left and right of Dursley Road have been given access and road space allowances to go as they please in both directions on County Way, so why can't this be done for Dursley Road instead of this silly and dangerous system that understandably drivers see people carriers using and are annoyed that they are not allowed to do the same?
A bus driver and a taxi can legally turn right at this junction. If the road system from and into Dursley Road was given an adequate layout, for which there is more than enough space to enter and exit, this problem would be solved.
