QUESTION: does the field adjacent to the cricket club belong to Trowbridge Hospital? It is not health v sport.
The population of our town needs healthcare from 0-90-plus years everyday, so maybe our local doctors are going the right way as the NHS is overstretched in many areas at RUH.
The town council is the governing body of sport and should make adequate fields for sport for the younger generation and forget the town hall for a small amount of people and leave the Civic Hall for local functions, concerts, West Wilts Show, clubs etc.
Let's not get into a long saga when people's lives are at stake.

IN reply to the letter from Cllr J Knight in last week's Wiltshire Times (Health v Sport), the proposed new surgery is on land to the rear of Adcroft Surgery, land which I understand belongs to the health trust, has been rented to the cricket club and is now required for health services.
The Bradford Road Surgery is now totally inadequate for its purposes, resembling something of a rabbit warren with very limited parking and right on a very busy main route into town with real road dangers for all entering or leaving, although still managing to render a service which is second to none to 10,000 patients.
The site proposed is used for football. Cllr Knight says 12 teams of 11 use the field, total 122 youth players plus reserves, say 200 in all. Compare that to 10,000 patients from the Bradford Road Surgery. There is a football field not 200 metres away from the cricket club in Seymour Road, there is one in Bradley Road, Stallard Street recreation field and also the Clarendon School playing fields.
Yes, Cllr Knight, this is the best site for the new surgery, it's central, off the main routes and easily accessible. Finally, if all else fails, the youngsters will be able to run up and down the staircase in the Town Hall for exercise, if that ever gets to fruition, or you could buy several football fields for the same money.
