ECO-WARRIORS have sent a threatening letter to a west Wiltshire golf club.
They sent the letter via the police to Cumberwell Park Golf Club in Bradford on Avon. In it they accuse the club of using too much water and energy, playing havoc with nature and discouraging wildlife.
The group says if the club did not meet its demands it would break in and destroy the course. A golf club near Bath had its greens dug up last week by the same anonymous group, who have also sent threatening letters to at least five other clubs.
Marc Haring, golf course director at Cumberwell Park, said: "We never use the mains to water our course, we always collect rainwater and re-use it. Over 50 per cent of our course consists of long grass and woodland and we have never used traps or poison on any wildlife."
