SHOPPERS sampled the best of what Bradford on Avon has to offer on Saturday as businesses celebrated a special town day.
The event was organised by the town's chamber of commerce and saw a variety of stalls in Westbury Gardens while shops had offers to entice customers.
Sylvia Henderson, who runs Victoria's in the town and is secretary of Bradford on Avon Chamber of Commerce, said: "The idea is to try and encourage people to come to Bradford. We usually have a spring event each year. "It gives people the opportunity to sell their items in Westbury Gardens and lots of the shops were offering different offers.
"For example the cheese shop had cheese-tasting sessions. The aim of the day is to promote the town and let people see Bradford is a lovely place to come and shop.
"It's completely unique and full of little independent shops with lovely places to go for lunch."
Entertaining the visitors on Saturday were singers from St Laurence School who braved the rain clouds to stand and sing in Knees Corner to raise money for the school.
Mrs Henderson said the event was a success and she was delighted to see so many new faces in the town.
"It went very well at the weekend. It was threatening to rain which must have put a few people off but everyone seemed pleased with the reaction," she said. The chamber of commerce usually runs a similar event in the autumn.
