LIKE me most residents of Melksham would have mixed feelings having learned that Melksham may be about to have a brand new community health centre on the Woolmore Farm site.
As a local elected member I have always been ready to work with anyone for the benefit of the town but I must say that this is hard work when it comes to the PCT. Yet again I have heard of this proposal third hand: so much for the PCT wanting to work with the community.
We want to keep our hospital, however, if we are to lose it why can't this new centre be on the hospital site? After all, we already have a health centre on the site. At least the present site has good public transport links which the Woolmore Farm site hasn't.
We must wonder what surprises the PCT are to come up with next.
A Barker, Melksham
