TWO online chat fans were so disappointed when they found a town forum site closed down they took matters into their own hands.
Donna Donkin, 29, of the Crescent, Westbury, regularly logged on to the Westbury Town Forum website to keep up with news from the town and to chat to friends.
When she discovered the site had closed her husband, Steve, also 29, set about creating an alternative. Mrs Donkin said: "I think the site had been running for a couple of years and it had a lot of regular members.
"We have made friends in the town through it and it is a really good way to keep up with local news. "When it was shut down we though we would set up a temporary replacement and if it was successful maybe carry on."
Mr Donkin, who works for Cable and Wireless in Swindon, had never set up a website before but decided he would give it a go. He said: "I just though I would challenge myself but it turned out to be quite easy."
The new website at www.westburytownforums.com is up and running. The Wiltshire Times contacted the co-ordinator of the closed website at www.westburytownforum.com who said the closure was temporary.
