Day hospital patients at Westbury Hospital will be transferred to Warminster from next Monday.
After the closure of the inpatient unit on the March 5, health bosses say that providing a clinically safe level of support from senior nursing staff has proved unsustainable and the PCT has decided to close the day hospital at the end of March.
Transport will be provided for those patients attending Westbury day hospital who will be transferring to Warminster. There are currently nine patients attending day hospital at Westbury, and the PCT is expecting that four or five of them will transfer to Warminster.
New referrals will be seen at Warminster. The nurses currently looking after their care have been talking to the patients and their families about this transfer.
