YOUNGSTERS and pensioners have been improving communication across the generations to help in the fight against crime.
Pupils at the John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge welcomed more than 60 older people to their school on Wednesday to see a musical, run by charity Age Concern, warning of the dangers of distraction burglaries.
Schools across the county have been opening their doors to the community to both help older people understand the way criminals trick their way into peoples' homes and to inform young people how they can help elderly relatives.
Liddy Davidson, director of Age Concern Wiltshire, said: "We are delighted that so many schools have supported the work being done in Wiltshire to raise awareness of the tricks used by burglars to get into homes.
"While Wiltshire is generally a safe place to live, these crimes are targeted at older people and can have devastating effects on people's lives.
"We value the help young people can give to support vulnerable neighbours and relatives in their local area to prevent these crimes."
Trickster is a 45-minute play telling the story of George, a proud former soldier, who battles being conned.
