THE Royal Navy paid a flying visit to The George Ward School in Melksham on Monday.
A Lynx helicopter from type 22 frigate HMS Cambeltown landed on the school field, giving pupils the chance to explore the aircraft and find out more about life in the navy.
It was a special visit for design and technology teacher Kirstie Jones, who is married to flight engineer CPO Neil Jones. CPO Jones was on board with the other aircrew to see his wife and meet some of her students. Mrs Jones helped design the Tigger' logo on the front of the helicopter.
