THE average property price in Corsham is £198,524 which is above the national average, continuing the trend which has been taking place since 2000.
Prices did fall slightly at the end of last year but you can still expect to pay around £288,000 for an average detached home. Even flats in the town are well over £100,000 and terraced properties are more expensive than in most areas with an average price of £165,000.
The average price of a semi-detached property in the town is now also nearing the £200,000 mark. There have been a lot of new developments in the town over the last four or five years to cope with the increasing demand for property.
Corsham is popular with buyers as it is a traditional town with an attractive high street and is surrounded by the north Wiltshire countryside. It has good road links and although there is no railway station in the town Chippenham is nearby with a direct service to London.
The town is particularly popular with people who work in Bath but can't afford to live there as the city is only a short drive away and prices are a lot cheaper but you still get to live in an attractive environment.
Corsham is also good for access to the M4 for those commuting to London or Bristol.
