DOMINIC Hayhoe, 35, has lived in Wiltshire all his adult life.

An extreme sports fanatic and ex-army man, he runs two businesses, a website called Forces Reunited which puts soldiers back in touch with each other and Trowbridge Active Leisure, in Duke Street, which sells sports equipment. His main passion is kite landboarding, which involves standing on a board like a skateboard and using a kite to catch the wind to power you along.

Mr Hayhoe and his fiance Alexa live in Paxcroft Mead and are due to marry in October.

What do you like most about living in Wiltshire?

There are good places in the county which are accessible for our kite flying. Most of the time we use the Westbury White Horse which makes it very easy for us.

Where would you recommend for a great evening out and why?

If I was dining, my favourite place is the Chinese restaurant in Silver Street, Beijing Palace. We don't go to a great deal of pubs and clubs these days now we're getting a bit older.

Who would be your ideal dining partner and why?

I'd have to say my fiance Alexa for obvious reasons.

Which local landmark or attraction would you recommend?

The Westbury White Horse. There's lots of activities going on up there from paragliding and hang-gliding to dog walking so I'd recommend that as a free place to go and have fun.

What is your favourite book and why?

Richard Branson's Losing My Virginity. Being an entrepreneur I find it motivational. I find it interesting to read about other people who have created something big.

Favourite music and why?

I quite like a lot of everything. At the moment I've got the Kaiser Chiefs album in my car.

If you were to start a new business in the county what would it be and why?

You have got to do market research and find out what is here and what's needed so that's a difficult one without really researching it.

If there is one thing missing from the county what is it?

I believe what was missing was a decent shop for extreme sports. There was nothing like that in Wiltshire but now there's Trowbridge Active Leisure. We're the only shop like it from here to Poole.

Which annual event is a must and why?

I guess the West Wilts Show just because it brings out things you didn't realise the county already had. My fiance and I were considering getting a hot tub and had been looking at places in Bristol only to find in the show there was a place right on our doorstep.
