THE organisers of a safe driving event have had such a good response they have decided to invite adults to come along next time.

Hundreds of schoolchildren attended the Safe Drive Stay Alive event at Trowbridge Civic Hall last week. The youngsters watched videos, talked to members of the emergency services and heard first hand accounts from those who lives have been torn apart by road accidents.

Assistant divisional officer Steve Law said: "We have all the young people there but we would like older members of the public to come along as we would very much value their feedback."

The aim is to help younger drivers, who are more inexperienced and more likely to be involved in accidents, to realise the impact such as event could have on their lives and other people's lives and to advise them how to keep themselves safer.

The road show will be running at the Civic Hall in Trowbridge from Tuesday-Thursday and members of the public can come along from noon-1pm on Wednesday.
