CHILDREN dressed as characters from their favourite books to celebrate the grand opening of their school's new library and ICT suite.
Youngsters at Southwick Primary School have also been writing and illustrating their own books to go in the new research library. Headteacher Julia Bird said: "It has been fantastic, the children have had a wonderful time. We really wanted to engender a love of reading and books in the children."
The ICT suite is also a part of the etrowbridge project, which aims to give the public access to computers. Parents have helped out getting the new facilities up and running at the school and they and other members of the community will be able to use the technology as well as the children.
The launch of the new facilities on Friday also gave youngsters the chance to celebrate World Book Day, which was held the day before.
