CHILDREN at a Trowbridge primary school are going all out to help less fortunate children.
All 393 pupils at the Grove Primary School in Trowbridge are to take part in a water challenge to raise money to buy resources and medical supplies for an African village called Gunjar.
The idea for the fundraising drive came from teacher Amy Wright who spent several weeks in the Gambian village as part of a teachers study visit. She said: "I visited schools and the medical centre and saw how little they have. The children have all been really enthusiastic and keen to help and it has been a good learning process for them."
The children have learnt all about the village and next Friday they will be sponsored to see how much water they can transfer from one container to another in a relay, using just a cup.
The pupils have done various other fundraisers and Miss Wright will be returning to Gambia at the end of this month to take the money raised to the village and help buy the supplies people desperately need.
