Pamela Cox-Maidment has been elected as the new mayor of Westbury Town Council.
She will take over from current mayor Mike Hawkins in May. Cllr Cox-Maidment, who has been deputy mayor for the last year, said she was looking forward to the challenges of her new role.
"I've enjoyed the last year as deputy and hope many things will come to fruition in the coming year like the White Horse being restored to its original whiteness and anything else that gives Westbury a boost," she said. "I've lived here a long time and I care very much about the town and I hope to put something back into the community."
At a meeting on Monday councillors also elected Charlie Finbow to be the new deputy mayor.
