Holiday village operator Center Parcs yesterday looked set to be sold to a private equity group in a deal worth £205.4 million.
The Blackstone Group has made the 80p-a-share takeover bid for the firm, which operates four sites in England including one near Longleat.
The £205.4 million offer is being backed by the Center Parcs board. It said the company had "a number of material and financial operational constraints" which made accepting the deal a prudent move.
The Longleat centre employs 1,500 staff and welcomes 7,000 guests every week.
