The Lib Dems are asking about people’s attitudes to MPs’ expenses.
But according to figures for the last financial year published at www.mpsallowances.parliament.uk our two neighbouring MPs David Heath in Frome and Don Foster in Bath and their party leader Nick Clegg claimed much more than our own local MP Andrew Murrison.
The claims were respectively £23,291, £19,018, £17,561 and £16,358.
All MPs, regardless of political party, must cut costs, but the suggestion that any one party is better than another is not supported by the evidence.
