GRreg Lovell is the Labour parliamentary candidate for the Chippenham seat at the next General Election.

Greg, 31, moved to Corsham last summer. He runs his own online Fairtrade company called This Fair Earth, which he started after giving up a career in law in London, launching the business when he moved to Bristol in 2008 with his wife Liz, 31.

Mr Lovell was already a member of the Labour Party and won the role as parliamentary candidate at the end of last year.

His wife, a human resources manager for a law firm in Bristol, is expecting their first child later this month.

Mr Lovell is also hoping to join Corsham Running Club and has applied to become a counsellor at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

Why did you move to Wiltshire?

Because Corsham has everything we needed and we just felt really good about it. It was love at first sight when we walked along the High Street.

What is the best Wiltshire view?

It is absolutely stunning to look out from the top of Box Hill. The colours in the sky are amazing of an evening. It just looks lovely.

You are King of Wiltshire for a day; what is the first law you would change or introduce?

A law that would help the whole of Wiltshire lower their carbon emissions and be green without it affecting them too much.

When you have visitors from out of the county, where do you go?

We always do the same walk through Corsham, down the High Street, past the Weavers Cottages, to St Bartholomew’s Church and then to Corsham Court grounds and to the lake. It shows off the best of Corsham.

What is your favourite pub or restaurant?

The Flemish Weaver pub in Corsham is great for eating out and has a lovely atmosphere. It is also very welcoming to families with small children. The Two Pigs is also great for a drink.

What local sports teams do you support, if any?

I don’t really support any local teams but I think Corsham Cricket Club is a great club.

What do you do for fun?

We like to take full advantage of the countryside with long walks and pub lunches.

Describe your house and garden. What do you love about it?

It’s just a semi-detached on Pickwick Road but it has fireplaces in the lounge and bedroom, which I have always wanted. It’s cosy and perfect for my business. And we have a garden for the first time in years, which is lovely.
