INDEPENDENT candidate Ernie Clark won the Hilperton seat with one of the biggest majorities recorded in the first ever Wiltshire Council elections.
Cllr Clark secured more than 1,400 votes - more than 1,100 votes more than his nearest rival Trace Senior, who could only manage 250 votes.
