Mourners packed out St Leonard's Church in Keevil for the funeral of 19-year-old Sam Young this afternoon.
The teenager, of Kingsdown Road in Trowbridge, died in the early hours of Sunday when he lost control of his Peugeot on the B3098 from Erlestoke to Edington, at around 3.30am.
The former Clarendon College pupil's coffin was brought in to the church to the sound of DJ Ironik's song, Stay With Me.
Mourners, wearing sports tops and bright colours at the family's request, looked on as Mr Young's relatives gave readings, as well as singing the hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful.
Following the service, the coffin was carried out to be taken for a private family burial to the sound of Song Bird by Eva Cassidy.
Family and friends then went to the Black Horse pub in Frome Road, where Mr Young had worked part-time behind the bar, for the wake.
Mr Young, a former employee at Asda in Bythesea Road, which is next to The Shires shopping centre in Trowbridge, was also remembered by former colleagues and shoppers during a minute silence held in store at 12.30pm.
The poignant silence co-incided with the start of the funeral service.
