Baby Jack came into the world relatively easy compared to his seven-year-old sister Tamara, according to his mum Ollie.

Mrs Gerrish, 33, said her pregnancy and planned caesarean at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, with Jack was straightforward after the numerous complications she had had with her daughter.

She said: “It was lovely that everything went really smoothly, although I was quite nervous about it.

“I am glad I didn’t have to worry about where or when I was going to go into labour as it was all planned.

“I had had to have an emergency c-section with Tamara after going into labour at a car boot sale.

“Luckily my waters didn’t break there and I refused to miss my Sunday roast or the final episode of Monarch of the Glen. After that I went into hospital.”

She said that both her daughter and step-daughter Lauren, aged 11, have loved being around their baby brother and watching him when he makes the slightest move.

The couple named their son Jack after Mr Gerrish’s grandfather and decided on Kallum as a middle name, spelling it with a K after his father’s German spelling of Karl.

The family had double the reason to celebrate after seven-year-old Tamara was told she was in remission from the leukaemia she has suffered from for two years.
