May I, through the columns of your newspaper, thank everyone who supported the 13th Annual Family Fun Day run by Bradford on Avon Lions Club on Monday, May 26.
Following the cancellation of last year’s event due to dreadful weather conditions, we had a really successful day and, despite a damp start, by mid-morning the sun was breaking through and the crowds turned up in their thousands to support us again.
Although they are too numerous to mention individually, we are especially indebted to those individuals and organisations who supported us on the day by way of sponsorship of specific events or in general; assisting in the running of various events and stalls; providing entertainment, attractions or stalls themselves and especially the general public for coming along, spending their money and, we hope, enjoying themselves.
We cannot be precise about the net funds raised from the day at this stage, but early indications are that it will be about £3,500, all of which will go to our Charitable Trust Fund from which we support a wide range of charitable causes locally, nationally and internationally. On behalf of club members, we extend our thanks to you all for your continued support, and hope to see you at next year’s Fun Day on May 31, 2010.
Richard Bloom, Bradford on Avon Lions Club, Church Acre, Bradford on Avon.
