Giant cat sculptures, meditative oil paintings and glittering jewels were among the many exhibits at this year’s Wylye Valley Arts Trail.
With nearly 300 artists exhibiting across 84 venues, the fifth biennial trail has been regarded as the best yet by organiser Nick Andrews.
Mr Andrews, who is exhibiting his paintings at his studios in Crockerton, said: “I think this is the most successful so far, and what I am really pleased about is that while it is bigger this year it is still within the same geographical area.
“People can hop from one thing to another without having to travel too far.
“There are lots of people going round doing the trail, especially with the good weather, that helps a lot. I have had a lot of very positive feedback, which is great.”
The trail started on Saturday and concludes this Sunday with many exhibits, galleries and workshops open for the public to explore within a 12-mile radius across west Wiltshire.
Sculptor Anthony Wilson is due to spend this weekend guiding visitors round his two-acre sculpture garden between Heytesbury and Knook.
Among the displays are three centaurs, part-human/part-horse figures, made out of plastic parts from the insides of cars.
Other exhibits this weekend are on show at The Organ Inn, High Street, Warminster; Warminster Library, Norton Bavant Village Hall, The Angel Inn at Upton Scudamore, Chitterne Village Hall, and many more.
