Five generations of girls from the same family separated by almost 90 years got together for a photograph to chronicle their family tree.

The White family welcomed their latest addition, April Bailey, last April and for her first birthday decided to get the five generations of girls together for a special photograph.

The photo, which was taken on May 23, includes April and her mother Kayleigh White, 19, from Whiterow Park, Trowbridge, grandmother Samantha White, 38, from Pitman Avenue, Trowbridge, great grandmother Carol White, 57, from Imber Road, Bratton and great great grandmother Kathleen White, 89, also of Imber Road.

Samantha, who is a cleaner for Premier Training, said: “We thought this was a nice chance to get the five generations of girls together so we can show future generations.

“We don’t all have the time to get together, which makes the photograph even more special, but when we do we like to go for walks together.

“My nan has a special bond with all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and now great great granddaughter.”

Kathleen White, is a former teacher at Clarendon School, Steeple Ashton Primary School, and Larkrise School.

She also used to give piano lessons at the Wiltshire Rural Music School in Trowbridge and John of Gaunt School, also in Trowbridge.

She has also been on Bratton Parish Council for more than 25 years and gives lectures on the history of the village.

She said: “We were delighted when April came along. She is a lovely soul - like all the girls in the family.

“If she wants me to teach her piano then I will be pleased to do so, but she will have to be that way inclined.”
