A teenager from Trowbridge killed in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday morning has been named locally as 19-year-old Sam Young.
Mr Young, a former Clarendon College pupil, died when he lost control of his Peugeot after driving around a left-hand bend on the B3098 from Erlestoke to Edington. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tributes have been flooding in since his death and a Facebook tribute page has been set up in his memory.
Sam Steff, 22, from Trowbridge, who worked with Sam at Sports World in The Shires shopping centre, said: "He was a top lad, and a pleasure to work with, I never saw him without a smile on his face."
School friend Laura Thomsit, 19, of Lydiard Way, Trowbridge, said: "He had such a big personality, that everyone knew him. He was always messing about pulling faces and generally being silly.
"He had a great sense of humour and could always make someone smile and giggle.
"He was the class clown and he's someone that will never be forgotten. He will be sorely missed by many."
School friend and football team mate Liam Milburn, 19, of Barn Glebe, Trowbridge said: "Sam made an impact on everyone who ever knew him, no matter how long they knew him, be it a minute, a day, weeks or years.
"When I think about some of my best memories, Sam is usually involved in them.
"He never took life too seriously and lived with a smile on his face and that's what makes it so hard to lose him. RIP mate, you'll never be forgotten."
Another school friend Ciaran Fahey, from Bristol, wrote on Facebook: "Like so many I'm still in utter shock of what has happened and all day I've been thinking about all of the good times I had with him.
"So I thought as a tribute to Sam Young we should share the memories we have of him.
"One that sticks with me the most was whenever we were in an IT lesson or a French lesson and the teacher finally got some peace and quiet, Sam would break the silence with a dolphin noise. It cracked me up every time.
"He always knew how to make you happy and have a good time in a boring lesson. I'll miss you mate.
