A huge thank you should be given to the organisers of the Chippenham Folk Festival.
As a Chippenham resident it was wonderful to see the town such a hive of activity over the Bank Holiday weekend.
I always feel uplifted when the town becomes the focus of an event for it clearly demonstrates what is possible for us to do with our town.
We can make Chippenham town centre an increasingly exciting place that more and more people want to come to and enjoy.
I am looking forward to the Chippenham River festival scheduled for August 29 and 30.
This festival promises to be an event that could become an annual fixture for Chippenham and surrounding area.
It will promote not only the use of the river for a wide range of waterborne activities including a Rotary run dragon boat racing event, but also bring the community together through local music and culture.
Please come along and support this event, or contact organiser John Clark at john@seagry39.
wanadoo.co.uk if you are able to offer some help to the wonderful group of volunteers and organisations that are taking part.
Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, Chippenham.
