The Devizes Chippenham & Districts Branch of the MS Society would like to express their thanks to all those kind people who collected and donated on their recent flag days.
The sums of £470.58 and £631.70 were raised in Chippenham and Devizes respectively.
During the Devizes flag day it was brought to our attention that the Wessex MS Therapy Centre had been collecting the previous Saturday at Morrisons and the perception was that we were one and the same.
We had been made aware of the Wessex MS Therapy Centre collection but only three days before our flag day, unfortunately as our collection licences from the local council were in place for a specified day and our volunteers were ready to go it was too late to reschedule our collection.
I would like to highlight the fact that we are all different charities , including the MS Trust, the Swindon & Wessex Therapy Centre and the Gardening MS from Bristol, who also collect locally, working for a common goal of supporting people across west and north Wiltshire who are suffering with MS.
Actions will be taken with the aim of ensuring that fundrasing from these different groups who operate within the region are co-ordinated where possible.
Jeannie Gye, Devizes Chippenham and Districts MS Branch, Wiltshire.
