British Transport Police have confirmed this morning that a man killed after being struck by a train near Bradford on Avon is a 21-year-old man from the town.
The fatality occurred at Tucker’s Occupational Crossing about a mile east of Bradford on Avon station.
BTP has not yet confirmed the man's name but is expected to do so later today.
Staff on board the 5.49am Bristol Temple Meads to Portsmouth service reported the incident to police at 6.41am.
Officers from BTP, paramedics, and Trowbridge Police officers attended the scene and the line was closed until 9.09am.
Trains were diverted though Melksham and shuttle buses were provided between Bath Spa and Westbury.
A spokesman for BTP said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
It is the second death on the railway line in west Wiltshire in the space of 10 days.
Leigh Lines, 27, from Warminster died on the line near Warminster on Thursday, May 14.
