Police have arrested a man in connection with an assault on a dog walker in woodland near Monkton Farleigh yesterday.
A 64-year-old man remains at the Royal United Hospital in Bath with suspected fractured ribs after he was allegedly assaulted by a man walking two boxer dogs at about 8.45am.
A 52-year-old man from Upper Swainswick, Bath, was arrested at home yesterday afternoon in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The victim was walking his dog when he came across a man and a woman walking a white boxer dog and one brindle, or brown and black.
Police said there was an altercation between the three over the dogs’ behaviour and the 64-year-old man was the victim of an assault.
