Bob Worlidge, 75, is chairman of Relate Mid Wiltshire and lives in Bradford on Avon.

He has worked for Relate for 13 years, ever since he retired from the Trafalgar House Group. Before that he was in the Navy for 35 years.

He chose to work for Relate because he ‘wanted to give something back’.

He met his wife Molly, 65, on board HMY Britannia in 1977 during its Silver Jubilee party and they have now been married for 30 years.

The couple have five children between them from previous relationships, and eight grandchildren.

Relate offers all types of counselling for couples, families, secondary school-aged children and psycho-sexual therapy.

Mr Worlidge said: “We see an enormous number of children each year. It is very depressing but this service needs to be provided.”

Why did you move to Wiltshire?

I moved to Bath with the Navy and stayed there ever since. We moved to Bradford on Avon five years ago because we wanted to stay in the area.

You are King of Wiltshire for the day. What would be the first law you would change or introduce?

Build a bypass around Bradford on Avon – it is a beautiful town but there is too much traffic.

What is the best Wiltshire view?

Stourhead – it has lovely views by the river. I have been there a few times and it is lovely in the spring and autumn.

When you have visitors from out of the county, where do you take them?

Stourhead and Slimbridge – they have beautiful views and people people always like it. If they are young then we take them to Longleat.

What is your favourite restaurant?

The Fat Fowl in Bradford on Avon – it has a lovely atmosphere and food.

What is your favourite pub?

I don’t go to pubs.

What is your favourite local shop?

I don’t like shopping – I tend to go in, get what I need and leave. I’m not one for retail therapy, but there are some nice shops in Bradford on Avon.

Which local sports teams do you follow?

I don’t support any local teams, but I do enjoy golf, cricket and rugby.

What do you do for fun?

Golf, garden, other charity work and family - there is never a dull moment.

Describe your house and garden.

It is a Regency house with a lovely garden, very cosy and comfortable.
