VILLAGERS will be getting into the West Country theme for the 25th anniversary of Box Revels this weekend with The Wurzels.

A whole weekend of celebrations has been planned by organisers with help from Box Parish Council and will include a banquet at the Selwyn Hall tomorrow and Sergeant Peppers Only Dartboard Band at The Queen’s Head on Sunday afternoon. On Bank Holiday Monday The Wurzels will take centre stage at the recreation ground.

Organisers promise that after last year’s wet weather this year is going to be the biggest and best yet.

One of the organisers Lesley Harris, who is postmaster at Hawthorn Post Office said: “We have been planning the event for months and after it started to pick up again in 2006 it has grown ever since. This year will be the biggest yet.”

Besides the well-known West Country group there will be a novelty dog show at the recreation ground on Bank Holiday Monday, a children’s entertainer, the Chuffy land train, a shooting gallery, and craft and charity stalls.

Plenty of refreshments will be available on Monday. For more details log on to www.boxrevels.co.uk
