Three more west Wiltshire towns have appointed their mayors for the coming year.
Cllr Tony Nicklin was appointed Warminster mayor at Dewey House on Monday.
The chairman of the Athenaeum Centre Trust was delighted to take on the role.
He said: “It’s a fantastic privilege for me. I’ve only been in the town for 17 years and been a councillor for two years so I’m very proud.”
Cllr Sue Fraser was appointed deputy mayor.
Cllr Richard Wiltshire was re-elected as mayor of Melksham on Monday for the third year running, along with deputy mayor Rod Eaton.
Cllr Wiltshire first joined the town council in 1976, sitting as a councillor until 1981 when he took a break and came back in 2003.
Cllr Jeff Osborn is the new Trowbridge mayor, with Cllr Clive Blackmore his deputy.
Cllr Osborn becomes mayor for the second time, having been mayor for the first time nine years ago.
He said he wanted to see the mayor’s role change slightly during his year of office, with more duties being taken over by the deputy mayor.
