Warminster residents and traders can expect another 20 weeks of roadworks as the third and final phase of enhancement works gets underway on Monday, June 1.
The scheme, which began in 2007, will see the final stage of Wiltshire Council's aim to improve the town centre, by creating a more pedestrian friendly environment and improving its attractiveness and economic viability.
The final stage includes: *The creation of a more pedestrian and shopper-friendly environment with widened footway areas and improved pedestrian crossings.
*Improvements to street lighting and the provision of new street furniture, such as benches.
* Better facilities for bus users such as new shelters and real time passenger information.
* Defined on-street parking areas to provide better facilities for deliveries, taxis and the disabled.
Before stage three gets ybderway, the Weymouth Street junction and the Market Place, up to The Bath Arms, will be resurfaced on Friday, May 29 from 6pm to midnight and Sunday, May 31.
On the Friday, the signals at the Market Place/Weymouth Street junction will be switched off and temporary signals will be put up.
The town centre will be accessible but motorists are being warned to expect significant delays.
Then on Sunday the Market Place/Weymouth Street junction will be temporarily closed to all through traffic from 6.30am to 10pm, with only limited access possible to the High Street, Weymouth Street and the Market Place.
A temporary diversion scheme will be in operation for the duration of this work.
Access to all off street car parks in the town will be possible and shops which normally trade on a Sunday will be open for business as usual.
Initially work on the third phase of improvements will concentrate on the northern side of the road from The Bath Arms to Station Road with two-way traffic along the Market Place, but on-street parking will be removed during this time.
The bus stops in Market Place will be closed and temporary bus stops provided in Station Road.
