A man accused of using a Taser gun during an attack in a village near Westbury was denied bail by Chippenham magistrates last Friday.
Robin Gage, 47, of Whitecroft, Dilton Marsh, is alleged to have attacked Francis Cresswell in Dilton Marsh on April 12.
He has pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm but he has admitted charges of extracting electricity and possession of amphetamines.
Gage was arrested at his home on April 29 and police carried out a search of his property, during which the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called after a suspicious substance was found.
One woman living next-door had to be evacuated following the discovery, which was later found to be harmless.
During the search police discovered Gage had been extracting electricity and a quantity of amphetamines were also found.
He has been remanded in custody and will reappear at Chippenham Magistrates’ Court on June 5.
