Model railway enthusiasts turned out in force to raise more than £190 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance appeal.
David, 61, and Patricia Moore, of Rudloe, Corsham, opened their model garden railway over Bank Holiday weekend for visitors to see the scale model steam engines and locomotives and miniature buildings that they have been putting together since 2000.
Although open days have been held in the garden each year since 2001, this is the first year the couple have decided to donate the proceeds to charity.
Mrs Moore, 66, said: “We had seen the air ambulance at several events at Castle Combe Circuit and thought it was a brilliant cause to raise money for. We had about 60 visitors over the three days, which was quite enough as we only have a small garden.”
The couple fell in love with model railways and model buildings after a holiday on the Isle of Wight and bought their first pieces in 2000. Every inch of their garden is utilised, all with functioning signals, lighting, waterfalls and trains.
