Award-winning Irish author Darren Shan spoke to his fans during a visit to the Athenaeum in Warminster.
The writer, who is best known for his vampire series The Saga, which Universal Studios intend to turn into a single film next year, was at the theatre in High Street, Warminster, on Thursday.
The talk was organised by The Well Wisher Bookshop in Long Street, Devizes, and publisher Harper Collins as part of his national tour to promote the latest book, Dark Calling.
The 36-year-old spoke to fans about his latest offering, which is part of his new horror series entitled The Demonata.
The book has sold more than 8,000 copies in hardback in its first week, more than any other of his previous publications.
Mr Shan ran a competition for fans to design the front cover of Dark Calling, which depicts a fire breathing blue demon.
