Ladies who lunch can show off their finest headgear and enjoy a virtual flutter at a charity event next month.
The Trowbridge and Melksham Friends of Dorothy House are holding their annual Ascot Ladies’ Racing Day on Thursday, June 18, in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care.
The event, at Spencer’s Sports and Social Club in Melksham, includes tote racing and a buffet lunch, beginning at 12 for 12.30pm.
Tickets, at £15, are available from Ann Peirce on 01225 761447 or Brenda Abbott on 01225 700702.
Brenda and Ann, whose group has raised more than £200,000 for the Winsley-based hospice over the past 17 years, came up with the Ascot idea three years ago.
Brenda said: “The Ladies’ Race Day has already become a popular fixture on the Friends’ events calendar.
“Last year was very well attended and we raised about £2,000 for Dorothy House.
“We’d like to do just as well this year, and look forward to welcoming some new supporters to the event.”
