Former Westbury Mayor Horace Prickett has explained the reasons for his departure from the town council.
Mr Prickett’s resignation from his seat on the Laverton ward followed hot on the heels of councillors Ian Taylor and Jackie Reed, who resigned from their respective seats on the Ham ward in April.
Mr Prickett, who has served on the council for ten years, said: “I’m due to retire in July and I hope to go out to India and work in a school out there for three or four months.
“I think it’s time I went off and did something else now I’ve got the chance to travel and do good work abroad.”
Mr Prickett’s term of office as president of Westbury Lions Club will also come to an end on July 4.
