PREMIER DIVISION: Corsham Centre A have the opportunity to move level on points with Biddestone Social at the top of the Robson Taylor, Chippenham Sunday League, Premier division this evening when they host Holt at their Meriton Avenue base ahead of their game with Dan Lardner and Danny Jones Biddestone outfit on Sunday.

Since losing to Biddestone back in September, the Centre have put together a 16 match unbeaten run and should extend that further tonight as they have already defeated Holt once this season when goals from Shane Godsell, James Lye and James Cauldwell earned them a 3-1 win on the opening day of the season and with goals now being a top priority for the defending champions they will hope that they can add a few to the 84 that they have already scored this term and they will need to score if they are to match Biddestone’s goals goal difference of 78.

Holt who have lost six on the trot know what to expect from a Centre side who have kept three clean sheets on the spin while scoring 17 goals and if things go to plan for the hosts then Holt should return home empty handed and all eyes will then switch to the battle between the Centre and Biddy on Sunday where whichever club is successful ought to go on and win the title. Dog & Fox Ashley v Westbury Rangers A Dog & Fox Ashley may not finish in the top two but if they can beat Westbury Rangers A for a second time then third spot will be theirs which will confirm that this has been the best season for the Bradford based side for a few seasons.

When the teams met a fortnight ago, goals from Ricky Trott (two), Tom Rooney and Steve Roddy helped the Dog claim a 4-2 success and although Rangers would love to avenge that defeat they may well have to settle for second best again as the Dog’s striker Roddy will be trying that much harder to get on the score sheet as he needs three goals to move above Winsley’s Mike Little who has 32 goals to his name as they battle for the top flight’s golden boot award.

The match should be a good one and the result is likely to be another close one and could be won by the odd goal in a high scoring game with the Dog tipped to edge it.
