Health bosses in Wiltshire are waiting for the results of six more tests on people suspected of having swine flu.
Seven people tested for swine flu last week were given the all-clear, NHS Wiltshire confirmed on Friday.
The Wiltshire and Swindon Local Resilience Forum (LRF), involving groups such as the police, Wiltshire Council and health agencies, has been told that the results of six further test samples are awaited.
The LRF has been meeting regularly to discuss measures to protect against swine flu, which has killed 30 people worldwide.
Headteachers across Wiltshire are being given regular briefings to prepare them for any potential swine flu outbreak after five schools in the UK were closed this week.
Mark Kimberlin, head of emergency planning services at Wiltshire Council, who is a member of the LRF, said: “Our main concern is making sure that schools are fully-briefed to make sure all headteachers are kept up-to-date with what is going on. We have got regular updates going out to the schools this week.
“If a student is suspected of having swine flu we would follow the national guidance which is outlined by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.”
This advice includes issuing anti-viral drugs and potentially closing the school temporarily.
A school in south Gloucestershire, three in London and one in Devon closed after pupils were diagnosed with the disease.
The LRF has also been informed about a local flu advice line due to be launched this week, the latest on the distribution of anti-viral drugs in the county and the relaxation of measures to make prescriptions more accessible.
There are now 28 confirmed cases in the UK.
